The response from developers and publishers to the Nintendo Switch is in stark contrast to the Wii U. However despite the Switch’s popularity, not everyone is ready to hop on board the console.
Eidos Montreal is one of these. The developer recently confirmed that they do not have plans to bring the new Tomb Raider game, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, onto the Switch. Speaking to GameSpot recently, lead game designer Heath Smith said that the studio is focused on bringing the game onto the PS4, Xbox One, and the PC. He feels like the Switch isn’t necessarily the right fit for Shadow of the Tomb Raider right now, even though he is a big fan of Nintendo’s latest console.
This might change in the future, but if you wanted to play any of the newer Tomb Raider games, for now you will have to play the game on a different platform because we don’t know when it ever launch on the Switch. If it ever does.
Tomb Raider fans will just have to wait and see what happens here, but I wouldn’t wait to play the game. Just enjoy it on another console for now. Sorry, Nintendo Switch users.
