Bad news for Titanfall fans. Those who were waiting for the Titanfall mobile game that was confirmed many months ago will be very disappointed. Titanfall: Frontline was going to be a mobile game based on the popular shooter franchise.
However, sadly the developer has now officially confirmed that this Titanfall mobile game has been canceled. Many fans were looking forward to this.
Only a select few were able to take part in the closed beta on iOS and Android. No one else was able to get any play time in. The developer, Particle City, says that it “learned an incredible amount” from the closed beta. What it discovered was that it wasn’t feasible to port Titanfall to mobile devices as described below.
“The experience wasn’t ready to deliver the intense action-packed gameplay synonymous with Titanfall,” Particle City said. Gamers who got in on the beta only have a few days left to enjoy playing the game. The developer says that it’s going to wind down the beta in the next couple of days before shutting it down on January 20th. It’s always sad to see a game killed before people get to play it.
It is very likely there will be more mobile games based on Titanfall in the future though. “While it’s never easy to cancel a game, we’re excited to take some of the concepts we saw resonate with players and build off of them in future Titanfall mobile games,” the developer said. So at least there is that.
