Games today are all about the resolution since it makes things look amazing, but gameplay is equally important. Some people are all about the visual experience though and those people will be happy to know that Titanfall for the Xbox One will be shipped with a native resolution of 792p.
This contradicts earlier rumors that said the game might launch in 720p. The beta of the game was running at 792p, but the rumors claimed that the developers had decided to go with 720p with the launch version of the game instead. Luckily that is not true at all. And if 792p isn’t enough for you, it may just get higher in the future. Respawn’s lead engineer, Richard Baker, said that they were experimenting with different resolutions that might be applied to the game post-launch.
Baker says, ”We’re going to experiment. The target is either 1080p non-anti-aliased or 900p with FXAA. We’re trying to optimise… we don’t want to give up anything for higher res. So far we’re not 100 per cent happy with any of the options, we’re still working on it. For day one it’s not going to change. We’re still looking at it for post-day one. We’re likely to increase resolution after we ship.”
So they are working hard to make sure that when they increase resolution, everything else is top notch too.
