Checking the tire pressure on your vehicle manually is sometimes one of those jobs that sometimes gets neglected, even though slow air leaks and underinflated tires can end in horrific consequences.
One developer has now created a smartphone tire monitoring system which uses a companion application and four air valve nozzles which are fitted to each tire on your car or vehicle. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about ZUS.
The developer of ZUS explains more:
Slow air leaks caused by screws for instance are hard to detect because the leakage rate is too low (i.e. ~0.1% PSI per hour) to be discernible when compared to natural pressure fluctuations that occur during the day as temperature rises and falls. Consequently, traditional tire pressure monitor systems miss these slow leaks.~
The ZUS app stores your car’s temperature and pressure history, allowing our AccurateTemp Algorithm to normalize temperature fluctuations throughout the day, so that you can see accurate tire pressure changes. In this way, you can tell whether your tires are leaking slowly or not.
