The Walking Dead franchise is a lot like a zombie. It just shambles along and dominates all media it encounters. At this point it has expanded its dominance from television and comic books to board games and video games. The Walking Dead: Season One, developed by Telltale Games was critically acclaimed and was given several “Game of the Year” awards. More importantly, Telltale Games made more than $40 million in revenue. 25% of that was from the iOS version alone.
And now developers are about to release the highly anticipated sequel to The Walking Dead. We have seen several new screenshots and there has been new info about the upcoming game. And now thanks to the official site, we have a date. The game will be released just before Christmas. That’s a nice gift for fans.
It looks like The Walking Dead: Season Two will be divided into 5 episodes, which will be released each month. The game will be available for PC, traditional consoles and Ouya as well as iOS. Developers say that more platforms may be announced later. Zombie slaying in time for the holidays? Count me in. Christmas just got a bit more awesome.
