Sony isn’t done with the PlayStation 4 just yet. Not by a long shot. In fact, the company has revealed the PS4 Slim, which is a thinner version of its latest console. We have heard the rumors for months, seen the leaked images, and now it is a very slim reality.
If you want to go slimmer with Sony’s gaming console, the Slim will arrive on September 15th for $300. That’s a pretty decent price when you consider what the PS4 started at way back in 2013 when it first came out.
As you might expect, the new PS4 Slim features all the inside guts of a standard PS4 plus a few cosmetic and convenience upgrades. For instance, there’s a lightbar at the top, more space between the front-facing USB ports and the removal of the optical port. In all, the console is about 30 percent smaller than the standard PS4, which came out in 2013, and of course it plays all existing PS4 games, so it is all good. It is just a more modern and sleeker version of Sony’s existing current generation console.
If you haven’t bought a PS4 yet for some reason, now would be a great time to get one with this slimmer version.
