Good news fans. The original Devil May Cry is coming to Nintendo Switch and it is happening this summer. The game’s official Twitter account made the announcement earlier in the week, although no release date or pricing has been revealed just yet. We do know that the game will only be available as a download, with no physical release. That sucks if you like to own the disc.
It is looking like the release will be a standalone title, and this naturally confuses fans since the first three Devil May Cry games are available as a bundle elsewhere. A very nicely priced bundle at that. But Capcom, the game’s publisher, has been focusing on the Nintendo Switch crusade lately. They have released versions of Okami, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen and Onimusha: Warlords, with several Resident Evil games coming out later this month.
As fans know, Devil May Cry has never been available on any Nintendo platform until now, so it makes sense it would start with the Switch. At least Nintendo fans will finally have a chance to play this game on their console. It’s about time and all we can say about it is it is better late than never.
