The Division is doing great. No worries there. Ubisoft recently announced that it was breaking sales records. And now Ubisoft has provided actual dollar figures which show that the game has continued to sell well after launch day. In case you had any doubt.
During the first five days of its release alone, The Division made $330 million, which is more than Destiny did, which previously held the record for the highest sales of a new franchise. So yeah, The Division is doing just fine. No worries.
Activision released Destiny in September 2014 and had $325 million in sales after the game completed its first five days. Ubisoft has announced that their estimated worldwide revenue for The Division in the same period of time exceeds $330 million. Keep in mind that while Destiny was released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, The Division has only been released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and still it has managed to break Destiny’s record for the highest sales of a new franchise. That’s pretty impressive. I know that Ubisoft is feeling great about this news.
“The Division taking the top spot in the industry for first week sales of a new franchise is a tremendous achievement,” said Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft.
