Apple does it’s best to protect its Watch with sapphire or tempered glass, depending on the model, but how does it fare in a good old drop test? Just because it is wearing armor, that doesn’t mean it is immortal.
In the three of drop tests below, the Apple Watch, which starts at $350, gets subjected to some real world scenarios, like say you are trying to put it on your wrist, adjusting the strap, generally admiring it and it falls from about waist height. That could easily happen in everyday use. So how did it fare?
Well, as shown here, its screen gets cracked to pieces when it hits the pavement. It doesn’t take much abuse at all to end up with a cracked screen. So you better be careful outting it on and taking it off. There are no cases for it… yet. I’m sure they are on the way though.
By the time you get to the 3rd video the torture tests get more hardcore as the watch goes into the kitchen. In all of these videos, it doesn’t take much to destroy your sweet new watch, so let this be a cautionary tale. Be careful everyone.
