Remember those virtual pets called Tamagotchi? It was a 90s craze. Little electronic toys that had a small plastic body and a display, allowing you to raise and care for virtual pets within. You have to “care” for the animal from its infancy, to adulthood. Feed it, play with it, and clean up after it. I know, weird. But some people really loved it.
The craze ended just as suddenly as it began. Now Bandai wants to bring it back. And what better place to house a virtual pet than within the Apple Watch?
Bandai tried to bring it back 2 years ago by introducing an app for Android, but that is which is gone from the Play Store now. Probably because it is up on the App Store. You can play it on your iPhone, iPad, and the new Apple Watch. So you can have a live-in digital creature that will need your attention all of the time. As if you aren’t busy enough.
The app is $0.99 and is available right now. If you feel nostalgic for your old pets, go give it a try. I do wonder if it will be a success or if people are done with it now.
