3 days straight of gaming would be hard for anyone. Some gamers who play MMORPGs can spend as much as 4-5 hours at a time trying to complete just a small section of a raid, but gaming like everything else, should be done in moderation.
Sadly people don’t heed that advice. A recent report from CNN has surfaced reporting that a man from Taiwan died after a 3-day gaming binge.
The man named Hsieh was found slumped over a table in an internet cafe in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, after he had been playing video games for three days in a row. The staff who worked at the cafe said that Hsieh was a regular patron and had been known to fall asleep in his chair or at his table, so they didn’t think much of it until he had been dead for several hours.
Police reports suggest that Hsieh died from heart failure, apparently due to the cold temperatures of the internet cafe and over-exhaustion from the gaming session. I also wonder how many energy drinks he downed, because that will do it. This has happened before. There was a man who died after a 40 hour marathon, and a teen who died after playing Diablo 3 for 40 hours. Craziness. Take breaks people. It’s not worth it.
