We recently learned that Super Smash Bros. 3DS XL would be getting its own limited edition bundle on September 19th. And now, an allegedly leaked Walmart ad points to the release of a Super Smash Bros. branded Nintendo 3DS XL later this month as well. Again on September 19th.
When asked, Nintendo of America said that it had “nothing to announce at this time” where a US-bound version of the limited edition Nintendo 3DS XL is concerned. That’s a pretty typical response and we really wouldn’t expect anything different. I would guess that this leak is real. They want to take advantage of this title in any way they can while it is hot.
Nintendo of Europe was the one that actually made the announcement about the red, black and white versions of the Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 3DS console last month. This limited edition version will hit Europe on October 3, coming with a copy of the game itself. That way you can get started playing as soon as you buy it. In other news Nintendo Japan will launch a similar handheld in November, although this will be with the New Nintendo 3DS LL. Nintendo is firing on all cylinders right now.
