Star Wars: Battlefront 2 VR Not Happening

Fans of the original Star Wars: Battlefront title have been hoping for a virtual reality sequel. It would not be unheard of. That would be quite an experience in VR. Star Wars as an immersive virtual reality experience would be great. We are just going to have to wait for that VR experience of destroying the Death Star with an X-Wing.

Because unfortunately, that’s not going to happen anytime soon.

Criterion’s Matt Webster and John Stanley have confirmed in an interview that there’s not going to be a VR component in Star Wars: Battlefront 2. Sorry guys and gals. When asked about VR options for the game, they just said “There is no VR.” You can’t get more straightforward than that. That’s a no.

Stanley added that VR was “very important” to Criterion and while they don’t rule out VR for future games, it seems like there’s no possibility of a Star Wars: Battlefront 2 VR experience. Many fans of the title were hoping for Criterion to develop a VR experience for the new title, but it just isn’t happening right now. However, Criterion is now developing space combat for the new title so that is something. It just won’t be in VR.
