The Disney-owned Star Wars franchise is set to introduce Star Wars: Attack Squadrons, where gamers can take part in 16-player PvP dogfights, in the cockpits of X-Wings, Y-Wings, and A-Wings. Plus other ships I’m sure. The game will be the free-to-play model, which likely means that it will nickel and dime you until you can’t even buy a drink in Mos Eisley.
In Star Wars: Attack Squadrons you can battle online with other humans in three PVP game modes, and you can also take part in a 16-pilot free-for-all. If that doesn’t suit you, you can also participate in a team dogfight. There is also a base defense mode, where you will have to stop incoming enemies from destroying your base, or you can launch an attack on their base.
It looks like the Star Wars cash cow is just getting warmed up again. At least you get to pilot some ships this time and have your share of space battles. It should be interesting to see how they get your money along the course of this game. Are you ready to pilot a ship and take it into the thick of battle?
