If you are eager for a new Star Wars mobile game, Disney has announced one, called Star Wars: Assault Team. A post on the company’s blog describes the title as a turn-based combat game for mobile devices. Its all about strategy, along with card battles.
I know, lightsaber combat doesn’t seem that exciting when fought with “cards” that feature images and character stats, but at least part of the game is rendered in 3D. Bonus: You can do Force punches on stormtroopers, which is always fun in any Star Wars game. Fans of Star Wars will be happy to hear that classic Star Wars characters are included, and there are missions set throughout locations from the original trilogy.
You can expect Star Wars: Assault Team to be released globally “this spring” for Android, iOS, and Windows 8 devices, including Windows Phone 8. Before the global launch, the game will be available in “limited early access” in select markets. That’s all we know so far, but it seems like a fun game to pass the time. Get ready to punch some Stormtroopers this spring, again and again. We should know more soon.
