Steve Jobs accomplished quite a bit in his life and now that he is no longer with us, some new tales are coming to light. The latest story sheds some light on the fact that Jobs wanted to package an iMac with a golden ticket inside.
You know, like Willy Wonka and the golden ticket with the chocolate bar. This golden ticket would allow one lucky individual and his or her family to visit the Cupertino Apple HQ. He apparently had plans to greet them in a fully done-up Willy Wonka costume to commemorate what was to be the millionth iMac sold.
It was a bold plan. And fun too. The plan was already in motion and Jobs had even instructed the creative team to design the prototype of the golden ticket. Sadly, Unfortunately, a California law messed things up. The law required that all sweepstake contests allow anyone to take part without requiring the purchase of a product. That put an end to that idea.
