If there is one thing that gamers want it is more Final Fantasy. In any form. And ever since Square Enix began re-releasing the Final Fantasy games on Android and iOS, gamers have been asking for Final Fantsy VII to be remade. Final Fantasy VII was one of the most popular, and most commercially successful Final Fantasy games in the series’ fourteen game history. It’s a no brainer that this is THE FF title people want.
We all know that if the game were released on mobile platforms, it would sell very well. Like, super well. It just seems like Square Enix either is dragging their heels or was caught off guard by the demand. Either way, it doesn’t make much sense.
When talking about the upcoming release of Final Fantasy VI onto Android and iOS, Square director and producer Takashi Tokita said that if that game did well, Square would be excited to work on Final Fantasy VII. Well, we all know that FFVII has broken records on the PSN with its re-release. And now the company is saying that the game is too big. The recent PC remake of FFVII was over 3GB and the iOS App Store limit is 2GB. However this is well within the range of the Google Play limit of 4GB. Size is a valid concern, but I think it could be done considering the kinds of sales they would make on the game.
