US mobile carrier Sprint has announced that they will be offering the LG Optimus F3 on their network from the 14th of June. The handset will retail for $29.99 when you take out a new two-year agreement with Sprint, and the price includes a $50 mail-in rebate.
The Sprint LG Optimus F3 comes with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and features a 4-inch IPS WVGA display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The display also features Gorilla Glass, which provides added durability and scratch resistance, making it a robust choice for everyday use.
Performance and Camera Capabilities
Other specifications on the LG Optimus F3 include a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, which ensures smooth performance for most everyday tasks such as browsing the web, checking emails, and using social media apps. The device is equipped with both front and rear-facing cameras. On the front of the device is a VGA camera, which is suitable for video calls and basic selfies. On the back, there is a 5-megapixel camera that allows users to capture decent quality photos and videos. While it may not compete with higher-end smartphones, the camera is adequate for casual photography.
Additional Features and Connectivity
The LG Optimus F3 also features a microSD card slot, allowing users to expand the storage capacity up to 32GB. This is particularly useful for those who need extra space for apps, photos, and media files. The device supports NFC (Near Field Communication), which enables convenient features such as mobile payments and easy sharing of content between compatible devices.
WiFi Direct is another notable feature, allowing the LG Optimus F3 to connect directly to other WiFi Direct-enabled devices without the need for a wireless access point. This can be particularly useful for transferring files quickly and efficiently. The handset is powered by a 2460 mAh battery, which provides a respectable amount of usage time, ensuring that users can get through a day of moderate use without needing to recharge.
The LG Optimus F3 is designed to offer a balance of affordability and functionality, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers who still want a smartphone with a decent set of features. The inclusion of Gorilla Glass, NFC, and a microSD card slot adds to the overall value of the device.
