Spotify provides two subscription plans for people who pay for its Premium service. There’s the single subscription for one person and the family plan for multiple and both of them are billed to you monthly. The company added more plans when it launched the service in India recently and is now offering another subscription plan in certain markets. The Spotify Duo plan for instance is more or less for couples who both want to access the Premium service.
Spotify Duo is made for two users and is priced at the midpoint between the single and the family tiers. It’s still cheaper if both people subscribe to Spotify individually. It also offers savings if you are paying for a family account even though there are only two people using it.
Spotify is currently offering the Duo plan in places like Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Ireland, and Poland. Prices in each country vary but they’re in the range of €12 in the EU markets. We don’t know when it will be offered in additional markets like the United States, but hopefully soon.
If you subscribe to the tiers you will also get a new feature called Duo Mix, a playlist that’s populated based on the listening habits of both users. Pretty cool.
