Nintendo unveiled an SNES-styled 3DS XL in August of this year. This was after the company launched a Super Famicon-themed New 3DS XL in Japan. This version swapped out the Famicom logo for the SNES. The thing is, Nintendo only released the device in Europe at the time. Well, that changes today as fans in the US can now get one.
Nintendo is bringing its SNES-styled 3DS XL to the United States at last. Yay!
Nintendo is selling this 3DS XL SNES console exclusively via Amazon in the United States. If you want one you can head over to Amazon right now and pre-order it for $199.99. It will be released on November 27th. Check out those stylized purple features that the original U.S. version of the SNES had. Pretty sweet huh? They replace the rainbow colored highlights on the European version.
The company is also offering customers a code for the downloadable version of Super Mario Kart so that they can play the game and relive some good memories. This is all about your nostalgia. Anyway, that really is one good looking portable console. Fans of the SNES will want to get their hands on this special edition right away.
