We heard last year that a South Park game was being developed by Obsidian, though we didn’t have a release date. It was expected to be arriving this year for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the PC. Now, thanks to an Xbox.com listing, which has since been removed, the game’s name has officially been revealed.
It is called South Park: The Stick of Truth. The description of the game reads:
“From the perilous battlefields of the fourth-grade playground, a young hero will rise, destined to be South Park’s savior. From the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, comes an epic quest to become… cool. Introducing South Park: The Stick of Truth.”
We know that it will feature offline cooperative playing and that DLCs for the game have been planned. It looks like it would have originally been released on May 5th, but obviously that is not happening. since they say it won’t ship until it has been fine tuned.
