Both Samsung and HTC recently announce Google Edition’s of the latest Android smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition, and the HTC One Google Edition, and now it looks like there will be a Sony Xperia Z Google Edition handset.
The Sony Xperia Z Google Edition smartphone will come with stock Android, just like the HTC and Samsung Google Edition devices, the news comes from Android Geeks who have apparently received the information from a Sony Insider.
The Sony Xperia Z Google Edition will come with stock Android 4.2.2. Jelly Bean, and will have the same specifications as the existing handset, which include a quad core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and an Adreno 320 GPU.
Other specifications on the Sony Xperia Z Google Edition include a a 5 inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, plus 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built in storage, there is also a microSD card slot and a 13 megapixel camera.
The Sony Xperia Z is designed to be resistant to both dust and water, the handset will apparently be available through the Google Play Store, there are not details as yet on when it will be available.
