Sony’s XB or Extra Bass lineup of headphones are seen as a competitor to the popular Beats headphones. They deliver deeper bass with great sound quality. The company has now unveiled a new pair of wireless headphones, the XB900N, to further compete with the Beats variety.
The new XB900N have a cool style that’s similar to Sony’s WH-1000MX3 headphones. They even have the same digital noise cancellation technology as well as Bluetooth support for pairing with your devices.
Sony says that these new Extra Bass headphones offer tuning options for low frequencies and are also capable of working with digital assistants like Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant. They have a custom button that can be used to activate the voice assistant when paired to your smartphone.
Sony is promoting the XB900N as a more affordable noise canceling headphone for customers who like bass. It is more affordable compared to some of its competitors so they have an edge there. The Bose QuietComfort 35 II, one of the best selling wireless headphones cost $350 and so do the Beats Studio 3 wireless. Sony is selling the XB900N for only $250. That’s a nice price point for a pair of headphones like this. Good move by Sony.
