Seems like Sony wants to encourage you to complete games. The Sony Rewards program will now award points to use in the PSN store for silver, gold and platinum trophies. You aren’t going to get rich, but at least your hard work will be rewarded in a minimal way.
Good on you Sony. Saving just a bit is always better than saving nothing at all. And you’re playing these games anyway, so you might as well put in a bit of extra time and get more trophies.
Along with existing promotions for renting movies and signing up for PSN services, the program will now grant 100 points for 100 silver trophies, 250 points for 25 gold trophies and 1,000 points for 10 platinum trophies. You can trade every 1,000 points for a $10 coupon on PSN. I guess you better get grinding for those platinum 100% game completion trophies. It seems like a cool idea that gamers might like, but really it’s probably better to just have that PlayStation credit card racking up company currency for you.
Still, at least the company is trying to give a little something back to the gamers that make their world go round. So for that, we thank them. What do you think? Cool idea?
