Do you want to be able to buy downloadable content at Gamestop? Well, if you are in Europe or Australia you are in luck. Sony wants to compete with Nintendo and PC games in the downloadable content arena, so that’s why the company’s European arm is taking its digital products to GameStop.
Customers will be able to use their cold hard cash, gift cards or trade credits to purchase activation codes for PlayStation Network games and add-ons. 1,600 stores in Australia, New Zealand, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria and Switzerland will soon be offering the ability to purchase content that normally you would have to order from your couch.
This should do well as many people don’t trust the safety of buying things over the network. It will be interesting to see what happens.
