Sony has confirmed a new online broadcast for today called “State of Play,” where the company will announce new games, show new trailers for the first time, and give fans updates on the new titles coming for the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation VR.
If this idea sounds familiar, its because Nintendo basically does the same thing with its Nintendo Direct presentations. It divides announcements in multiple broadcasts throughout the year instead of making a big appearance at an industry event like E3. It seems to work well for the big N.
Sony says that the “very first episode” of State of Play will be broadcast today at 2 pm Pacific. It looks like the company is going to conduct more of these broadcasts moving forward.
We can expect updates and announcements “from the world of PlayStation,” with the first episode showccasing new PS4 and PS VR games and new trailers, new game announcements, and gameplay footage. You can view the live stream on Twitch, Twitter, YouTube, or Facebook. The VOD edition will also be available shortly after the first episode airs.
State of Play will return throughout the year with more updates and important news. It’s a great way for fans to keep informed.
