A tweet last week from inFAMOUS: Second Son’s developer, Sucker Punch, seemed to suggest that pre-loading could be a feature coming to the PlayStation 4 soon. However Sony did not confirm anything, so we were left wondering and hoping that this was the case. Gamers would love this feature.
Now a Sony rep has confirmed that pre-loading is a feature that could be making its way onto the PS4 soon, though they declined to say whether the feature would be part of the April update or if it would be released later on. The rep said that the feature was under consideration, so there’s no guarantee that it will arrive, however, it gives us all a reason to hope and it is basically a confirmation in my book.
Pre-loading gives you the option of downloading the game’s install files and whatever patches are necessary, installing them on your system, and then once the game has been released, you can play the game right away without any delay. There is really no reason for them not to do it as it is yet another value added thing that players love.
