The world around us is getting more hi-tech every day, so why wouldn’t religion get an upgrade? The Catholic Church has announced a device called the Click to Pray eRosary.
This is a smart rosary that can track your prayers with an app accompanying your smartphone through the device. It activates itself when the user makes the sign of the cross. According to the press release, “When activated, the user has the possibility to choose either to pray the standard rosary, a contemplative Rosary and different kinds of thematic rosaries that will be updated every year. Once the prayer begins, the smart rosary shows the user’s progression throughout the different mysteries and keeps track of each rosary completed.”
In addition to being able to help you pray, it can also be a fitness tracker. It can track your steps, calories, and distance traveled, and more. The accompanying app will also provide music, narration, images, and personalized content. You know, just in case you need some inspiration for your prayers.
If you’re interested in purchasing it, it will cost you 99 euros. So religion and technology and both present in this device. But do your prayers travel any faster? Do they go to God’s mobile?
