It looks like Activision has decided to move their Call of Duty franchise to a three-year dev cycle. Sure, it means a longer wait between Call of Duty games, but this cycle will make sure that they have more time to focus on the quality of the game.
Sledgehammer Games will be the next developer to make the Call of Duty title and according to Pete Dodd, it is expected that the game will have a big jump in visuals compared to Call of Duty: Ghosts. With a three year cycle they had better.
Posting in the NeoGAF forums, Dodd was quoted as saying, “Internally people are excited for it. It is supposedly a pretty big jump over ghosts graphically.” The next title is expected to make its way onto next-gen consoles like the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, so a huge improvement and in graphics is to be expected anyway. Maybe it will be a huge difference. We will find out eventually. It makes us excited for the new Call of Duty game for sure. It should be worth the wait.
