You might think that a call recording feature would be one of the basic features that Skype offers but nope, that’s not the case. Has never been the case. Now it is almost 15 years after the service was first launched, and a call recording feature has just now been confirmed for Skype. Better late than never we say.
This feature will be released later this month. At long last, Microsoft has confirmed that it’s adding a call recording feature to Skype.
Skype’s call recording feature is cloud-based so users will be able to record their calls across devices. It will be available on Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, and Linux. As soon as you start recording the call, everyone in the call will be notified that the call is being recorded. The recordings combine everyone’s video and any screens that are shared.
This is just one of the several features that Microsoft is adding to Skype this summer. Other features include read receipts which will let users see at a glance who has read their messages. Once someone reads the message, their avatar will appear beneath it in the Skype chat. Now users can quickly know when everyone is caught up with the latest messages at a glance.
Microsoft will also be unveiling Skype version 8.0 for the iPad which has features like quoted messages, personalized themes, chat list, @mentions, and more. Skype users will be thrilled with these additions.
