We have been hearing rumors for about a week that Sony will soon start selling the PlayStation 4 Slim in gold. Sony then officially announced that the gold PS4 Slim was a limited edition console and that it will go on sale next week.
However, that’s not the only limited edition unit that the company has for us. Sony has now launched the PlayStation 4 Slim in silver as well.
The silver PlayStation 4 Slim is going to join the existing lineup later this month. Like the gold version, the silver PS4 Slim is catering to those gamers who want a metallic color on their gaming console. Sony will sell the silver PS4 Slim with 500GB of storage and matching DualShock 4 wireless controllers. The company is also going to sell standalone silver DualShock 4 wireless controllers.
Sony has so far offered the PlayStation 4 in just two color variants. The original Jet Black and the Glacier White variant that was released earlier this year. It is nice to have a few more options. Pricing and availability of the silver variant will vary by market. Aside from the color, everything else inside remains the same. It’s still the same PlayStation 4 Slim that has been available for several months now. Just shiner.
