Shure is known for its quality headphones and earphones, which range from affordable to expensive for professionals. Those professional headphones can cost you more than a thousand dollars, which is a sticker shock to some. While others don’t mind paying for the extra quality and comfort. If you are in need of some new headphones, Shure has a new pair for you.
They have announced the SRH1540 and the main selling feature of these headphones is that the back of the earcups are made of carbon fiber, so they should be very light, yet durable. They also have an aluminum alloy yoke, with Alcantara earpads. These headphones use 40mm neodymium drivers and oxygen-free copper cables as well.
Shure says that the SRH1540 has a slightly warmer bass compared to the SRG1840, but that depends on the user’s personal taste. This pair isn’t Shure’s most expensive, but it also isn’t the cheapest, selling for $624. Audiophiles will be more than happy to pay the price for the comfort and quality they provide. My question would be how long these last? The price is totally worth it if they outlast their competition and have a longer life, because all headphone tend to fall apart from use.
