Some of our readers might remember Shimi the musical robot we featured back in June of this year, here on Geeky Gadgets. Now the Shimi robot has made an appearance at TechCrunch Disrupt 2012 and has launched a Kickstarter campaign.
The Shimi project is currently over on the Kickstarter website looking to raise enough pledges to make the jump from concept to production. Watch the video after the jump to learn more about the Shimi project and see it in action.
Shimi is being marketed as the first musically intelligent robotic speaker dock, and has been equipped with artificial intelligence that Shimi uses to analyse music it plays and generates real-time unique dance moves. its creators Tovbot explain:
“Shimi has five motors strategically placed, and will dance to the beat of any song using a rich variety of dance moves that fit the specific song and genre. We packed years of our research in expressive robotic movement into an app that makes Shimi groove like nobody’s business.”
So if you think Shimi is something you could benefit from, visit the Kickstarter website now to make a pledge and help Shimi become a reality.
