As you likely know by now, 4K is slowly becoming the new standard resolution for our media needs. It has not fully caught on, but with another year or two we should start seeing it everywhere. So buying a 4K TV will get you ready.
Well the big thing after 4K is 8K. If you want to skip straight to 8K, Sharp has you covered.
The company recently announced that they expect to start selling their 8K AQUOS TVs in markets like China and Japan by the end of the year, and they have plans to expand to Taiwan and Europe in 2018.
An 8K TV will offer a resolution of 7,680 x 4,320 which is 16 times that of a regular Full HD TV. Sharp is calling it an “ultimate reality” in which the details are so fine that the naked eye can’t see it. Obviously right now there is a lack of content for 8K. Even 4K content is not everywhere yet. So 8K is a long way off, but maybe you want to get in on it now and be ready. If you have the money, you might as well go for it. Who knows, maybe 12K will arrive shortly too.
