You might remember that Sharp announced their AQUOS Crystal smartphone officially in August of last year, and it hasn’t even been a year yet and now there is a sequel announced. The sequel to this handset will be known as the Sharp AQUOS Crystal 2, obviously and will have a larger screen size of 5.2”.
It will also have basic waterproofing and mobile wallet support thrown in just for good measure. The Sharp AQUOS Crystal 2 is slated to arrive on Softbank in Japan later in the middle of July. We don’t know if the handset will eventually arrive in the states or not, so stay tuned for that. We may learn more soon.
Since it sports a larger S-PureLED display, your eyes will thank you, although the resolution count remains at 720p. The chassis has also received an upgrade as far as dimensions at 136mm x 71mm x 11mm and it weighs 154 grams.
The main camera is 8MP, while the front-facing 2.1MP camera has been relocated below the display. The AQUOS Crystal 2 also has 2GB of RAM and the internal storage has been bumped up to 16GB. As sequels go, we’ve seen worse. It should be a hit for the company.
