There are plenty of reasons that you could get banned from Xbox LIVE. Some are questionable and some are for the protection of the community and it’s users. The state of New York has now implemented a law that will remove sexual predators from online gaming sites.
The project is called “Operation Game Over”. The idea is that video game platforms will be safer for from online predators. If you are on record as a sexual offender, you will not be allowed on the sites. New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman says, “We must insure online video game systems do not become a digital playground for dangerous predators. That means doing everything possible to block sex offenders from using gaming networks as a vehicle to prey on underage victims.”
The corporate participants are Microsoft, Apple, Sony, Electronic Arts, Disney Interactive Media Group, Warner Brothers and Blizzard Entertainment. The Xbox Live platform alone has over 40 million users so they take safety seriously. I don’t know that this is the complete answer, but it should help keep kids a bit safer on the platform.
