If you need the most advanced fridge there is, you were no doubt happy to hear about Samsung’s Family Hub fridge earlier this year. It comes with a 21.5-inch touchscreen display on one of its doors, so you know it’s awesome.
Even though, admittedly, we have no idea why you would need such a huge display for a fridge. Well, if you are interested, Samsung has announced that the fridge will now be available for purchase in the US.
It will set you back a cool $5,600, or $6,000 if you opt for the black stainless steel model. This is way beyond the price for a standard fridge, but we guess that’s the price you pay for this kind of super-fridge. The display on the fridge can be used for all sorts of things.
For example it can give you weather forecasts, a smart calendar, a menu planner, and there are also cameras that can take photos of the contents of the fridge to let you know if you are running low on a food item. I guess that’s cool. Or you could just open the fridge and look. You can even buy your groceries from the touchscreen thanks to MasterCard’s new Groceries app. Too much or not enough? You decide.
