Samsung’s mobile payments service was launched almost two years ago. It initially supported a handful of credit and debit cards.
Since then Samsung has gradually expanded support for more banks and financial institutions. And now it has announced that another payment method can be added to Samsung Pay, but it’s not a credit or debit card. We are talking PayPal.
PayPal support is finally live for Samsung Pay. This will allow Samsung Pay users to pay with PayPal anywhere that they can use Samsung Pay.
Setting it up is easy too. Just have link your PayPal account with Samsung Pay on your device and you can easily pay using the service anywhere Samsung Pay is supported. This will be great because so many people use paypal. Now they can use it with Samsung Pay.
There’s a difference between this integration and getting a PayPal debit card and configuring it with Samsung Pay. This integration allows you to make payments from your PayPal wallet via Samsung Pay. Since Samsung’s mobile payments service has MST and NFC support, it can work with almost all card terminals in supported markets. It can also be used for online payments. PayPal support is live right now for Samsung Pay users in the United States.
