The video below is from the guys over at Slashgear and it shows the new Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini in action. We get to have a look at some of the features on the device as well as the handset’s design.
Specifications and Features
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini features a 4.3 inch qHD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. This makes for a vibrant and sharp display, ideal for watching videos, browsing the web, and playing games. Processing comes in the form of a dual-core 1.7GHz processor, which ensures smooth performance for everyday tasks and moderate multitasking. The device will come with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, offering a user-friendly interface and access to a wide range of apps through the Google Play Store.
Other specifications on the Galaxy S4 Mini include a front-facing 1.9-megapixel camera and a rear-facing 8-megapixel camera. The rear camera is capable of capturing high-quality photos and 1080p video, making it a solid choice for photography enthusiasts. The front camera is suitable for video calls and selfies.
Connectivity options are robust, with the device featuring 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and LTE. This ensures that users can stay connected in various ways, whether they are at home, at work, or on the go. The Galaxy S4 Mini also comes with 1.5GB of RAM, which helps with multitasking and running apps smoothly. Additionally, it includes a microSD card slot for expandable storage and 8GB of built-in storage, providing ample space for apps, photos, and media.
Design and Usability
The design of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is sleek and compact, making it easy to hold and use with one hand. Its smaller size compared to the original Galaxy S4 makes it a more portable option for users who prefer a device that can easily fit into a pocket or small bag. Despite its compact size, the S4 Mini does not compromise on build quality or features.
The device’s Super AMOLED display ensures that colors are vivid and blacks are deep, providing an excellent viewing experience. The screen’s resolution, while not as high as some flagship models, is more than adequate for the device’s size, ensuring that text and images appear sharp.
The Galaxy S4 Mini also includes several software features that enhance usability. For example, it comes with Samsung’s TouchWiz interface, which adds a range of customization options and additional functionality to the standard Android experience. Features such as Smart Stay, which keeps the screen on while you are looking at it, and S Voice, Samsung’s voice assistant, add to the overall user experience.
In terms of battery life, the Galaxy S4 Mini is equipped with a 1,900mAh battery, which should provide enough power to get through a full day of moderate use. This includes activities such as browsing the web, checking emails, and using social media apps.
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is a well-rounded device that offers a good balance of performance, features, and portability. It is an excellent choice for users who want a capable smartphone without the bulk of larger devices.
