Last week we showed you a video of full Android apps running on the Samsung Galaxy Gear, this was done without rooting the wearable gadget.
It was only a matter of time before someone managed to root the Samsung Galaxy Gear, this was done by photonicgeek over at the XDA Developers forums.
The Galaxy Gear can be rooted by installing some official drivers from Samsung, and then using the Cydia Impactor from Saurik, there are full details on how this is done over at the XDA Developers.
The Samsung Galaxy Gear as currently available in the US and Europe for $299, the device communicates with Samsung’s Galaxy devices, and currently supports the new Galaxy Note 3.
This new smart watch from Samsung features 1.63 inch display that comes with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels, the device is powered by a single core processor with a clock speed of 800MHz.
Other specifications on the Samsung Galaxy Gear include 512MB of RAM and it features 4GB of built in storage, there is also a 315 mAh battery and a 1.9 megapixel camera built in to the watch strap.
