There have been reports of record orders for the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones and it looks like Samsung is expecting the handsets to be their most popular smartphones to date.
Samsung is expecting record shipments of their new Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge handsets and the company may have trouble keeping up with orders of the S6 Edge.
Samsung’s JK Shin recently told media that they are expecting to sell more of the S6 units than the S6 Edge, although they are expecting high demand for both devices.
The display on the Galaxy S6 Edge is more difficult to manufacture because it is curved and it could take Samsung until the end of the year to meet demand for the S6 Edge.
“Some carriers are switching existing orders to get more of the S6 edge, and it looks like demand for the model will exceed supply throughout this year,” said HMC Investment analyst Greg Roh. “That means average selling price will fall at a slower rate, which will have a positive impact on Samsung overall.”
It looks like the handsets will be considerably more popular than last years Galaxy S5 smartphone, Samsung had expected to sell a lot more of the handset than they did, which has caused the company’s profits to decline over the last year.
