Recently we’ve heard some rumors that Samsung could be launching three new Windows Phone handsets in 2012. Two of these were rumored to be Windows Phone 8 “Apollo” devices. Now it looks like Samsung’s Taiwanese arm has confirmed that the company will indeed be releasing Windows Phone 8 handsets and could be selling them as early as October of this year.
The company’s focus is said to be on the Windows Phone 8 “Apollo” platform. This way, they will be outing some more powerful devices. Otherwise what would be the point? The current series of Windows Phone 7.5 Mango and Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh devices all have single-core processors compared to iPhone and Android devices which feature dual-core processors and even quad-cores.
There are no other details on these Windows Phone 8 handsets, but we will let you know as soon as we hear anything.
