Nokia used to be the worlds largest mobile phone maker, previously Nokia had sold more mobile phones than any other company each year for a period of 14 years, Samsung knocked them off the top spot, and they have now kept their place at the top for the third quarter in a row.
Samsung shipped a total of 105.4 million mobile phones worldwide for the quarter to the 21st of September, this is up 21 percent from the previous year, and they now have a 23.7 percent share of the mobile phone market.
As well as being the top mobile phone maker, Samsung is also the top smartphone maker, selling more smartphones than its rivals, where as Nokia is having trouble getting its smartphone’s and Windows Phone off the ground compared to other companies.
