Rumors suggest that the next generation Xbox will run on a processor that clocks in at 1.6GHz. That is half of what the current generation Xbox 360 has. The information comes from a well-known gaming figure, Hector Martin (aka “marcan”). This information was revealed after the disappointing 1.2GHz clock speed in the recently released Nintendo Wii U.
True or not, you can’t judge a console on processor speed alone. We have no way of knowing if this is accurate or not, but I wouldn’t freak out just yet. Maybe it is slower, but has more cores.
If we hear anything else about this we will let you know. Take it with a grain of salt for now.
