Google is not very good at keeping secrets, and we’ve seen this in the past. The Nexus 7 II might be the worst kept secret of the search engine giant, which went on sale before the official announcement, and we almost knew every single thing about the tablet.
The situation is a little similar in case of Nexus 5 as well. The device was leaked at the official announcement of Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, followed by a number leaks through FCC, mockup designs and much more. Now, a new rumor suggests that purported Nexus 5 will launch on October 14th along with Android 4.4 KitKat.
An anonymous tipster provided some information to the folks at Ausdroid about the launch of the much-rumored Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat features. Many people are expecting Google to announce the alleged Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 in October, followed by a November release. This is the same schedule Google followed with the Nexus 4 as well. So, let’s just take this rumor with a grain of salt.
The source also mentioned that the phone spotted in the Android 4.4 KitKat video is the upcoming Nexus 5, which has become the talk of the town from the past few weeks. Interestingly, the tipster also sent a list of features that we should expect in Android 4.4 KitKat. The list of features includes:
-
Firmware availability to older phones
-
Fragmentation changes (screen resizing)
-
Miracast updates
-
New Gallery Visualisation
-
New APIs regarding animations
-
Change android default blue to other preset palette colours
-
New notification widgets
Based on all the leaks, we can say that Nexus 5 is definitely in the pipeline, all we have to do is wait for an official announcement from the search engine giant. Until then, let’s just take this as a rumor and not official news.
