Microsoft announced back in March that it’s adding support for cross-network play to Xbox One. This means that supported titles will allow games on Xbox to play with their counterparts on PC or even PlayStation 4. It’s a great feature that fans are excited about. Rocket League is the first title to support the feature and now cross-network support has gone live for Rocket League.
This is the first Xbox One game that supports cross-network play with a Steam PC game. Rocket League players on Xbox One and PC can now play against each other. Before they could only dream about it.
Over two million Xbox One players have competed in Rocket League since the game was launched in February, but now that it supports cross-network play, the potential pool of players is much much larger. This opens up a lot of possibilities for developers. From here on out, it’s up to the developers to decide whether or not they want to support cross-network play in their games. If they do, you can enjoy games with people who use other platforms. Also, players on one platform will always have the option to play against players on the same platform just the way it has always been.
