We’ve known for a few months that Harmonix has a new Rock Band game coming our way. Rock Band 4. This is a strange development because everyone thought that these kinds of games were dead and unpopular. Apparently they think there is enough interest to justify the title.
If you were wondering what the game looks like, IGN got their hands on some screenshots and has posted them online. Obviously this is not a drastic change from previous games and the art style is similar to its predecessor as well.
The screenshots show that the multi-colored 5-lane note track is back. IGN is expected to unveil gameplay footage on May 15th. We know that Rock Band 4 will have a campaign mode which has been described as an RPG like affair. So you can expect more of the same, with some new stuff thrown in that probably won’t rock your world. Pun intended.
In related news, Activision has also announced the return of their own music game, Guitar Hero Live. I guess these games are having a revival. I wonder how long it will last. My guess is, not long, but hey, rock on while you can my music loving friends.
