A Japanese robot that specializes in rock, paper, scissors will be your worst enemy when playing the game. That’s because this guy wins 100 percent of its matches. How? Well, it uses a very special strategy. It cheats.
The researchers at Ishikawa Oku Laboratory programmed the “Janken” robot to recognize its human opponent’s hand shape and counter it within a millisecond. That means that it sneaks a peek at your move and quickly beats it. The robot is named the “Human-Machine Cooperation System” because it needs your cooperation to do it’s cheating thing.
What I really want to see is two of these robots face off against each other and get mad when they can’t out-cheat each other. Maybe they would end up tearing each other apart.
