The Resident Evil movies weren’t very well-received, based on the reviews, but they were still popular enough to turn a profit and fans of the games enjoyed them. Well, the studios are finally getting another chance at the franchise.
In a recent report, it was revealed that a new Resident Evil movie could be in the works and that this could be a reboot of the series. The new movie is said to be directed by Johannes Roberts, who is behind other titles like 47 Meters Down and The Strangers: Prey at Night.
When asked about the movie, Roberts said, “We are in active development of that at the moment. I pitched them a take, and they really loved it. So, we are just gearing up on that as we speak, really. I’m in the office all the time there. So, yeah, it’s great. It’s gonna be super scary. It’s super, super scary. And it’s just getting back to the roots of the game. I think, at the moment, I’m not really allowed to say much more than that. But it’s gonna be a lot of fun.”
We don’t know when the movie will be released or who might have been cast.
