The Diablo 3 expansion, Reaper of Souls is set for a release on March 25th of 2014. We first heard this news from Blizzard back in 2013 when they told us that gamers can go ahead and pre-purchase the game via the Battle.net Shop. The standard copy of the game is $39.99, while the digital deluxe edition is $59.99. That one comes with lots of extra goodies.
Well, here’s some more good news that you will love. You can now download most of the game’s files in the background which is around 6GB in size. So when the game is released, you won’t have to spend the next hour or two downloading the various patches and update data. You can get right into the game, assuming Blizzard’s servers are up to the task anyway. Sweet!
Blizzard’s blog says, “The download will be around 6GB in size and include things like models, textures, art files, and other upcoming content in patch 2.0.1 and Reaper of Souls that is already complete. By making this data available early, you’ll have leass to download once the pre-expansion patch and expansion are released.”
That is mighty nice of them. We gamers do appreciate anything that saves us time so we can get straight to playing.
